the woman who tried to assassinate President Ford in San Francisco in 1975, emerged in public this morning and offered an apology for her actions.
The only woman to fire a shot at a president said it was only later, while spending time in solitary confinement, that she “had begun to realize that I’d been used.â€Â “I think that I was misled, that I was mistaken. I think I made a serious error,†she told “Today’s” co-host Matt Lauer. “I had to learn later that everyone else didn’t feel that way.â€
She said she knew some people didn’t think she should have been paroled.Â
Nova Henry, mother of former Bulls player Eddy Curry’s toddler son, was found Saturday fatally shot in her South Loop apartment. Ava Henry, her daughter,9 months, was also killed. Another child in the same apartment was unharmed.
Virginia Tech police have confirmed a murder at the Graduate Life Center on campus.
Shortly after 7:00 Wednesday evening police were called to the 1st floor Graduate Life Center and found a female Asian, international graduate student on the floor with stab wounds, already dead. The also found a male Asian grad student nearby and took him into custody without incident. Police say he made it clear to officers that he did it. They say there were also several witnesses.
Police say that the two obviously knew each other, but they’re not sure how well. They say the victim lived in the Graduate Life Center.

Tampa Bay Bucs have fired their head coach Jon Gruden after end to the season. On Friday, Gruden and General Manager Bruce Allen were fired, an outcome that was shocking mostly for its timing. The announcement came almost three weeks after the regular season, after Gruden had made staff moves and after several teams had already hired some of the hottest coaching candidates.
